Magazine Review
I think that my magazine turned out
well overall, I think that the cover and the contents looked good, it was noticeable and it included good
copy. I think I used the correct colours to make it stand out. The picture
on the cover looked very good and I think that it suited the school theme with the student reading a book. I really like the font of the title as it is similar to a fraternity type font. I also think that the main story really stands out on the front cover as the golden stars are really exaggurating how important it is. I think my contents page turned out really well. I think it's right in the middle of being too basic and too clustered; I think it's just right. I like the big bold page numbers as they give off a clear message and people will easliy understand them. One of my other favourite things is the little Twitter and Facebook puffs at the bottom as many young people use social networking sites so they'll be able to keep up to date.
However, I feel that if I had more
time, I could’ve made the magazine a lot better. The first thing I would’ve
changed is that I would have made Josh, the boy in my picture, stand out more
from the background. I think he blends in with the background too much. If I had more time I might have used
different types of fonts to make the copy stand out more rather than using the
same font. I Think there is a little too much focus on the
trainer rather than what I intended to be the focus; the book. I don’t like the
‘couples list’ idea; I think it’s a little cheesy. I think I could’ve thought
of something I bit better for a front cover copy. I maybe could've taken a better picture for the contents page as it is a little boring.
Apart from all of that, I think my
school magazine cover and contents page turned out quite well.
