Superhero Magazine Review

Overall, I think my magazine turned out well. I think it looked good, it was very appealing and it had lots of information. I think the front cover looked good with the background it had, London. I tried to make the headlines stand out by using colour and I also tried to make them stand out by putting a glow behind the writing as the background made it very hard to read the writing. I feel that the half covered by London page on the contents looks very professional and effective as it looks like a stylish design. I think that I used a good selection of contents for my magazine because there were a good variety of headlines. I thought that my cover picture suited the task well, I was dressed in a shirt, trousers and blazer, however I was also wearing a Spiderman costume, that’s where I customized the magazine to my preferences which made my magazine a little bit different to other magazines which is what I like; to be a little different; to stand out. I think the superhero icons going along the bottom of the front cover looked very cool and effective, they really added to the theme of the magazine. The title of the magazine, ‘The Avenger’, also really fitted in with the theme and it also sounded very good.

However, I feel if I had more time, more money and better resources I could have made my magazine a lot better. I think I could’ve made my front cover a little better, by perhaps making the front cover a little less clustered. I feel there was too much information on the front cover and a few too many pictures. I think if the front cover was a little more plain and less clustered it would’ve looked a lot more professional. For my contents page, I could’ve perhaps made the writing a little bigger, to fill the page fully, I could’ve done this by perhaps making the half London a little less than half, perhaps only fill 1/3 of the page with it. I could’ve also used water colour so I could’ve seen the text over it. I think I could’ve done other stuff on my contents page other than headlines so I could’ve included some competitions and tournaments to give a different purpose because some people may want a bit more variety. I just think my front cover is too clustered and my contents page is a bit too basic.
